This paper takes Zhejiang Province—a typical example for rural homestay development in China—as a case.Using methods such as nearest neighbor index, kernel density estimation, buffer zone analysis, and geographic detector,it reveals the spatiotemporal pattern evolution of rural homestays in Zhejiang Province from 2012 to 2022,and further explores the influencing factors of the spatiotemporal pattern evolution of rural homestays in Zhejiang Province. The results indicate that:(1)From the perspective of temporal changes, the number of rural homestays in Zhejiang Province has fluctuated significantly in the past decade, showing an overall trend of first increasing and then decreasing.(2)From the perspective of spatial pattern, the clustering characteristics of rural homestays in Zhejiang Province are significant, forming a distribution pattern of"two main cores and one sub core".In recent years, the core concentration areas of rural homestays in Zhejiang Province have been constantly changing, with the distribution centers of rural homestays shifting between four cities:Hangzhou,Jiaxing,Shaoxing, and Jinhua.(3)The formation of spatial differentiation in rural homestays in Zhejiang Province is attributed to the combined influence of terrain factors, tourism resource endowment, and transportation conditions. The endowment of tourism resources is the most important influencing factor, followed by transportation conditions and terrain. The interplay between slope and road network density exhibits a significantly greater influence than that of either factor considered in isolation.
